By Ms. Monique | Kids N Colors Daycare | Palmdale & Lancaster, California
Hello, wonderful parents! It’s Ms. Monique! π
Today, I want to talk about something very important to so many of our families: finding affordable, dependable child care without all the stress and confusion that sometimes comes with the process.
As a mother and childcare provider, I know how overwhelming life can get. Between work, school, raising your little ones, and managing everyday responsibilities, finding the right daycare shouldn’t feel like another full-time job.
Maybe you’ve been searching online for “Child Care Resource Center Palmdale,” “CCRC application,” or “daycare that accepts CCRC near me.”
Well, I’m so happy you found us!
At Kids N Colors Daycare, we believe that helping families goes beyond taking care of their children. Sometimes, it means helping Mom or Dad understand paperwork, figure out who to call, or simply know what to do next.
And that’s exactly why I created this guide.
Whether you’re applying for childcare assistance for the first time, trying to get connected with a CCRC caseworker, or already approved and looking for a loving daycare, we’re happy to help you navigate the next steps.
What Is the Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) in Palmdale?
The Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) is an organization that helps qualifying families access financial assistance for childcare.
For families living in Palmdale, Lancaster, and surrounding Antelope Valley communities, these programs can make a tremendous difference.
Depending on your eligibility, you may qualify for assistance that covers part or all of your approved child care costs.
CCRC supports families through programs such as:
- CalWORKs child care assistance: Help for qualifying families receiving or transitioning from cash assistance.
- Alternative Payment Programs (APP): Subsidized childcare assistance for qualifying families, based on program requirements and available funding.
- Childcare referrals and resources: Information to help parents identify suitable childcare providers.
You may qualify if you’re working, attending school, participating in approved training, looking for employment, or experiencing other qualifying circumstances.
Every family’s situation is different, so don’t count yourself out without asking!

How Do I Apply for CCRC in Palmdale? Let’s Walk Through It Together!
I know that sometimes the hardest part of getting help is figuring out where to begin.
Here are the steps I recommend.
Step 1: Start Your CCRC Application
First, visit the official Child Care Resource Center website.
Start or Update Your CCRC Application Here
CCRC offers an online application for families seeking childcare financial assistance.
The initial online application is relatively short, but please remember that completing an application does not automatically mean you have been approved for funding.
Not sure what information you need or where to begin?
Call Kids N Colors Daycare!
We can help you locate the correct application, explain the general steps, and guide you through understanding what information CCRC is requesting as you complete your own application.
Our goal is to make the process less intimidating.
Step 2: Don’t Have a CCRC Worker Yet? Here’s What to Do.
One of the questions families may have is:
“Ms. Monique, I want to get childcare assistance, but I don’t even have a worker. Who am I supposed to talk to?”
Don’t worry! That’s a great question.
If you have never applied for CCRC assistance, you do not need to already have a CCRC caseworker to begin.
Start by submitting an application or contacting CCRC directly to ask which program may apply to your family.
CCRC Palmdale Phone Number: 661-789-1200
When you call, you can say:
“Hello, I live in Palmdale and I’m interested in applying for childcare financial assistance. I’m not sure which program I qualify for or whether I have a caseworker. Can you help me get started?”
If you currently receive CalWORKs cash assistance, you may already have a county or GAIN worker who can help with childcare referrals. Ask that worker about your childcare benefits or contact CCRC for guidance.
Once your application reaches the appropriate stage, CCRC can explain who is handling your case and how to contact that person.
How Kids N Colors Can Help: We can help you prepare questions for your call, understand the difference between a CCRC case specialist and a county worker, and identify the next steps CCRC asks you to complete.
We cannot assign caseworkers or approve benefits, but we can help you understand the process.
CCRC in Lancaster, CA β Yes, We Serve You Too!
If you live in Lancaster, I don’t want you reading this far and wondering whether any of it applies to you.
It does. All of it.
CCRC serves the whole Antelope Valley, Lancaster included. There is no separate Lancaster CCRC office β the Antelope Valley office on Grand Cypress Avenue in Palmdale handles families from Lancaster, Palmdale, Quartz Hill, Littlerock, Lake Los Angeles and the surrounding communities.
So when you’re searching “CCRC Lancaster CA” or “child care resource center Lancaster,” that Palmdale office is the one you want. Same phone number: 661-789-1200.
You don’t have to drive to Palmdale to apply, either. The application is online, and most of the process happens by phone, email and mail.
Start or update your CCRC application
And our Lancaster daycare?
Kids N Colors has been part of this community for years, and our Lancaster families are every bit as much a part of our daycare family as our Palmdale ones.
If you’re a Lancaster parent working through CCRC β whether you’re just starting your application or you’re already approved and looking for a provider β please call us.
Lancaster: 661-802-1672
We’ll talk about your child’s age, the schedule you need, what openings we have, and where you are in the CCRC process. No pressure, no rush. Just a conversation.
Step 3: Gather Your Documents and Get Organized
Depending on your childcare assistance program, CCRC may ask you to verify information about your family and your need for childcare.
Some examples of documents you may be asked to provide include:
- Identification and information about your children
- Proof of household income or recent pay stubs
- Employment or work schedule verification
- School or training enrollment information
- CalWORKs or other benefit information, if applicable
- Other documents requested by your CCRC representative
You may not need every item on this list. Your CCRC representative will tell you exactly what applies to your situation.
A little tip from Ms. Monique: Keep a folder on your phone or at home for your childcare paperwork. Save important emails, take note of deadlines, and keep copies of documents you’ve submitted.
It sounds simple, but staying organized can really help!
And if you’re confused about what belongs in your CCRC paperwork versus your daycare enrollment packet, our team can help you understand the difference.
For your privacy, financial documents and sensitive application information should be submitted directly through CCRC’s approved channels.
Step 4: What Happens After You Apply for CCRC?
This is the part where families sometimes feel a little nervous.
You’ve completed your application. Now what?
Depending on the program, several things may happen.
- Your application information is reviewed. CCRC may determine whether your family meets the initial requirements for a particular childcare assistance program.
- You may be contacted for more information. Some families may be invited to complete eligibility screening, provide additional documentation, or attend an orientation.
- You may be placed on a waiting list. For some programs, including certain Alternative Payment assistance, eligible families must wait until funding becomes available. Waiting times vary, and there is no guaranteed approval date.
- Your CCRC representative will explain the next steps. If your family is selected for enrollment, CCRC will explain the remaining requirements and how your child care provider becomes authorized.
My advice? Don’t ignore calls, emails, or letters from CCRC!
Respond promptly, keep your contact information updated, and ask questions whenever something isn’t clear.
And remember, while you’re working through the process, you can also begin exploring childcare options.
Step 5: Choose a Daycare That Accepts CCRC in Palmdale or Lancaster
Now comes one of my favorite parts β finding a wonderful place for your child!
Kids N Colors Daycare welcomes families using CCRC and other qualifying childcare assistance programs.
We proudly serve families throughout Palmdale and Lancaster, providing a warm, playful environment where children can learn, grow, make friends, and feel safe.
Our programs include childcare options for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children, depending on the location and available openings.
If you’re interested in joining our daycare family, we encourage you to contact us even if you’re still working on your childcare assistance.
We can talk about:
- Your child’s age and childcare needs
- Your preferred schedule and start date
- Current daycare availability
- Our educational programs and daily routines
- How CCRC provider paperwork works
- What to expect during enrollment
You can also schedule a visit to get to know our classrooms and teachers.

Looking for a Daycare That Accepts CCRC Near Me?
If you’re already approved and you just need a provider β this part is for you.
Kids N Colors Daycare welcomes families using CCRC and other qualifying childcare assistance programs, at both our Palmdale and Lancaster locations.
Here’s what to do:
- Call us β Palmdale 661-266-1220, Lancaster 661-802-1672 β and ask about current openings for your child’s age group.
- Tell your CCRC representative that you’d like to use Kids N Colors Daycare, and ask what’s required to select or change your provider.
- We’ll complete the provider paperwork CCRC asks us for.
- Wait for CCRC to confirm the authorization before your start date. This part matters β don’t begin care assuming the subsidy is in place until CCRC says it is.
That last step is the one families trip over, especially when switching providers. Your caseworker has to confirm the new authorization before the change takes effect. We’ll help you keep track of where things stand.
Getting Ready for Kindergarten at Kids N Colors
Parents ask me this all the time: “Will my child be ready for kindergarten?”
It’s a fair question, and I love that parents ask it.
Kids N Colors has been licensed and caring for Antelope Valley children since 2005, across three locations in Palmdale and Lancaster. We’re licensed under California’s Title 22 child care regulations, which covers everything from staff qualifications to ratios to health and safety.
But a license tells you we’re safe. It doesn’t tell you what your child actually does all day.
So here’s what we do.
Our school-readiness program focuses on:
- Letters, sounds and early reading β designed to prepare your kids for early school success
- Numbers, counting and early math β your child will be fully prepared for Kindergarten
- Listening, following directions and sitting for group time β the habits that make the first weeks of kindergarten so much easier
- Sharing, taking turns and solving small problems β the social side, which honestly matters just as much
- Holding a pencil, using scissors, buttoning a coat β the small-motor skills teachers notice right away
And yes β we accept CCRC.
This is the part I want parents using childcare assistance to hear clearly: the program your child gets here is the same program every child here gets. Your funding source doesn’t change the care.
If you’re working through CCRC and you want your child in a structured pre-K setting before kindergarten, come see us.

Step 6: Let Us Help You Prepare for Enrollment!
Here’s something I really want parents to know.
You don’t have to wait until every part of your CCRC process is complete to come meet us!
While your application is being reviewed, we can begin discussing what your family will need if a childcare space becomes available.
Our team can guide you through the general enrollment process, help you understand the information we’ll need, and explain how we coordinate required provider paperwork with CCRC.
As we prepare to welcome your little one, we can discuss:
Your child’s routine: Nap times, meals, interests, comfort items, and anything that helps your child feel secure.
Enrollment requirements: Emergency contacts, authorized pickup information, required health records, and other documents appropriate for your child’s age and program.
Your approved childcare schedule: We can review your childcare needs and coordinate the provider’s portion of the authorization process when appropriate.
Your child’s first day: We’ll explain what to bring, how drop-off works, and how we help children adjust to their new environment.
Our goal is to make the transition into daycare as comfortable as possible for both you and your child.
One important reminder: CCRC must authorize the childcare services and approved start date before you can rely on subsidy funding to cover care. We’ll help you understand when the authorization is in place so there are no unexpected surprises.
Already Have CCRC? We Can Help With That, Too!
Maybe you’re already receiving childcare assistance and simply need to find a new daycare in Palmdale or Lancaster.
Wonderful! We’d love to hear from you.
If you already have a CCRC caseworker, let them know you’re interested in Kids N Colors Daycare and ask what is required to select or change your childcare provider.
Our team can provide the appropriate provider information and complete the daycare’s required paperwork when requested.
If you’re changing providers, make sure your caseworker confirms the new authorization before the change takes effect.
We want your transition to be as smooth as possible.
Frequently Asked Questions About CCRC Palmdale
Is CCRC childcare free?
Some qualifying families receive assistance covering all of their approved childcare costs. Other families may have a required family fee or additional costs, depending on their program and circumstances. CCRC determines eligibility, funding, and any applicable family fees.
How long does it take to get approved for CCRC?
It depends on your childcare assistance program, whether your paperwork is complete, and the availability of funding. Some programs use waiting lists, so approval is not always immediate. Contact CCRC for information specific to your application.
Can Kids N Colors help me fill out the CCRC application?
Yes! We can help you find the official application, walk you through the general steps, and explain the information being requested. You remain responsible for providing accurate information and submitting your application to CCRC.
What if I already applied and nobody has contacted me?
Call CCRC Palmdale at 661-789-1200. Ask how to check the status of your application, whether any documents are missing, and whether your contact information is up to date. If you’re unsure what questions to ask, we can help you prepare before your call.
Can I choose Kids N Colors Daycare as my childcare provider?
Families in qualifying provider-choice programs may select an eligible childcare provider, subject to CCRC’s requirements and authorization. Contact Kids N Colors to check availability, and let your CCRC representative know if you would like to use our facility.
Do I need to be approved for CCRC before scheduling a daycare tour?
No! You’re welcome to contact us, ask questions, and schedule a tour while you explore your childcare assistance options. Enrollment depends on available space and completion of the necessary childcare and subsidy authorization steps.

A Little Message From Ms. Monique π
Before you go, there’s something I want to share with you.
Over the years, I’ve met so many wonderful parents who are doing everything they can to build a better life for their children.
Some are working long hours. Some are going back to school. Some are starting over, trying to find employment, or simply doing their very best to make everything work.
And sometimes, asking for help can feel overwhelming.
But I want you to remember something.
You deserve support, and your child deserves a safe, loving place to learn and grow.
At Kids N Colors Daycare, we have always believed that we’re more than a childcare facility. We’re a community of families, teachers, and caregivers who genuinely care about one another.
That’s why I’m happy to share resources like CCRC and help parents better understand how to get started.
We may not have every answer, but we’ll do our best to guide you toward the people and information who can help.
Because sometimes all a parent needs is someone to say, “Here’s where we start. Let me help you figure out the next step.”
And that is the kind of support I want our families to feel when they reach out to us.
